    Jane Austen

Okay, it's embarrassing to be writing this at 1 AM (I did have a long early evening nap, my friends!), but I had to take a moment fresh from watching PBS's adaptation of Persuasion to gush.  For those who may have missed out.  Anne & Captain Wentworth were both perfection.  It encompassed all that I love about Austen - quirky personalities, devestatingly hopeless love turned reality.

Next Sunday they're doing Northanger Abby (my ward book club read this last year and it was truly humorous...can't wait to see it in movie format), then Sense and Sensibility and Mansfield Park over the following weeks.  After the new original productions, they are going to air the Kate Beckinsdale Emma and the classic, one & only A&E Pride and Prejudice.  To finish it all off, they made an original biography titled Miss Austen Regrets.

Much Sunday night goodness to look forward to!

    Off to bed!

Oh, I caught it too...actually I put it on my calendar so I wouldn't forget...I loved Persuasion tonight..."I am half agony, half hope." What a letter writer! I've never read Northanger Abbey...I'm half tempted to read it quickly before next Sunday, but then I would have to leave Levin and I'm not sure I can.

Oh I didn't know (sniffle)!! Darn it, I love Persuasion. I am glad to be in the know now, thank you ever so much!

So bummed I missed it. Tom and I wasted the evening watching the lame Comanche Moon that I ended halfway through to go to bed, it was so stupid!

Argh! I am going to have to put these on my calendar or something so that I remember. I forgot Jane Eyre, I forgot this. Dang!

Last night we watched "Something The Lord Made" which is actually really good, but it's one of Keith's favorites and we've watched it many times, and he just happened to catch it on tv, and I just couldn't get into it again.

I think they're replaying Persuasion at odd times over the next few days, so check your guides if you missed it. I've never heard of "Something The Lord Made"...will have to check that one out.

I would so love to see all of these! I'll have to see if I can find when they're on...

Yippee! Glad it was so good. By the time I hung up the phone with you I had missed too much to jump in mid-way and was too tired to start it over. I'll have to pull out some ironing over the next day or two and watch it. (And thanks for the fun chat!)

Kelly, I missed the second half of Jane Eyre and was kicking myself. And then Sunday at like 3 a.m. I was flipping channels while feeding the babies and lo and behold there it was again! Needless to say, the girls got some extra snuggles over the next hour while I watched and sobbed. LOVED IT. So, check your TV guide and set up your DVR.

I'm glad you taped it. I can't wait to watch it with you and JoDee this week. Who doesn't absolutely LOVE Jane Austen?

Oh, I wish I would have caught it! It sounds like you had a perfect l-a-t-e evening!

Now I miss having TV hooked up. How fun!

A Jane Austen marathon might be worth getting cable for. (Don't tell Dirk I wrote that or he might hold me to it.)

I didn't know there was a Kate Beckesale Emma. I just knew about the Gwenyth Paltrow one. And I've ver seen Persuassion OR Northenger Abby, though I love both books.

I missed it! I happened to click on the Good Reads website late Sunday night and there was an ad for it. I ran straight to the tv to see they were replaying it or if it was on then, but I found nothing.

I'm happy to know they'll be playing shows weekly, I feared I'd missed it all.

Now I'll have something to watch on Sundays. I love those movies. Thanks for the info.

I really need to gain some control of the remote control - enough with the Sunday sports!

I'm missing all of this! So, very, very wrong. I'm glad you're enjoying it, though. I'm kind of snobby about my Jane Austen movies, so you'll have to give an overall review when they are all done of which ones match the books and which ones don't.

I heard about this! I wish I were in the know last week, but the book club girls filled me in and I will be parked in front of my TV delighting in Jane Austen this week, even though I haven't read the book.
