    at my house

We've been busy. This whole having a baby thing tends to rock one's world.  Ours is no exception.  My burning need for change and perfection (what Jim deems Nesting Phase 3.0) overtook the household about 2 months ago when...

The junk room became the office.

    The office became Davyn's room.

    Aidan gained his own room.

And the playroom became a nursery.

Ta-da! It sounds so simple written out in black & white Garamond 12 point font.

    Not so.

Because then I got tired.  About a month ago.  The spirit was still willing, but my stamina so suddenly non-existent.  So lots of folk have helped me get things in enough order for the big birth day (see picture overload below for a big peek at baby girl's ready room).

Speaking of that *birth* day, things haven't gone according to plan.  My girl decided to nestle up (firm & permanent) in my ribs.  So here we are at 38 weeks and she's still breech.  Despite a hospital procedure and various home remedies.  The only plus is that we now have an exact date & time, knowing that she will be in our arms Monday morning (oh so early!).

It has been somewhat of a curve ball.  I was telling Jim that I've pored over pregnancy and birth books each time I'm coming up on delivery, but I've never paused for even a second on the cesarean sections.  So here I am now, finally reading up on something I never before considered.

    Slowly adjusting.

    Shifting expectations.

The other mental adjustment was when I heard yesterday that children under 13 (siblings included!) are not allowed to visit patients in the hospital right now due to flu concerns.  That broke my heart.  Because my boys are older now & aware now & anxious Now.  And I so want to introduce them to their sister.  And I so don't want to miss seeing them for three whole days.

Of course, I realize that all of these concerns will fade quickly.  Once we're all back..home..together.  We (all 5!) will be nestling in for a long while.

So knock loudly if you plan to visit.

The doorbell doesn't work (thank heavens!).

And I'm sure we'll be more than a little self-absorbed.  At my house.

I'm so sorry for the twists and turns this little one has given you on her way here. I am sure she will be worth every bit of the discomfort, though. It made me absolutely teary to know that your boys won't be allowed to visit at the hospital. I understand the precaution, but it makes me sad for those protective big brother hearts who will be wanting to see the both of you so badly. Darn it, darn it. It will be extra sweet to be home all together, though. Tell Kay, Jim and/or Cyndee that if they need anything while you're hospitalized to call me, please.

And now for the gushing (there will be more when we get to see the little girl in person!). Her room turned out AMAZING! I just love it. Cyndee's tree is incredible, the window seat and all the little details turned out perfectly. I'm still dying over your crib bedding coup. All you need is a tiny girl to finish it off!

You will be in my thoughts and prayers on Monday! I'm so excited for the 4 of you!

That room is absolutely adorable! I wish I had an ounce of the creativity that you do. Yeah for your baby girl coming on Monday! Congrats! And don't get too stressed about the c-section. I had one with Dallin and the recovery is a little longer, but really not too bad. Just get up and walk as soon as you can. And take a pillow to hug in the car on the way home if you will be going over bumps. That's my 2 cents. Good luck and I can't wait to see pictures!!!!

I'm so jealous of that beautiful baby room!! Soooo adorable. Our poor 3rd child never got a nursery and I'm regretting it now. C-sections were so easy for me, I hope they are for you too! I'll be thinking of you Monday and I can't wait to meet your little one or big one! lol

    Such a cute nursery!

I've been following your blog for some time now-got it from Summer Driggs' friends list.

Oh!! The tree! The little pink baskets! The steal of a deal crib bedding! The birds and houses! It's all so cute, so girly, so perfect.

I'm sorry that things aren't turning out as you planned. That was the case for every one of my births, although I never had a C-section. What a disappointment that the boys can't come to visit you and their new sister.

Still, you have a great attitude. You all be together very soon and having a long nesting in sounds perfect. Good luck!

What a classy room for your little sweetie! It just makes me want to smile and sing sakura (did I remember that right?)! You all did a fabulous job. It does sound like you've been ultra busy.

Congratulations on tomorrow! I'll be thinking of you all!

Does this mean today?! Wow, what a turn of events.

Caleb was breech and I had an unexpected cesarean with him. (By the way, that made the last bit doubly painful on my ribs...as you well know.)

The room is soooooo lovely! Hope everything goes well today. Thinking and praying for you.

Am so excited for all of you. You will do great with the c-section. Recovery may not be quite as fast but that will just give you more time to sit and hold the new little one. Love ya, Aunt Eloise
