    last night's FHE

    pants-optional backyard soccer.

(you should have seen me & Jim)

(who were - of course - fully covered)

These boys live for this kind of action.  But Aidan did get frustrated when Jim turned the fun into training to defend an *actual* goal, or practice in dribbling an *actual* basketball.

"Don't tell me things.  I just want to play."

But when we finally said it was time to go inside, Aidan knew precisely what button to push.  "Dad, I'm ready for more instruction."

    He actually said "instruction".

So - of course - they got to nudey about a bit more.

He he! My two boys like to nudey around the backyard as well (except our boys have diapers instead of underwear), it must be a boy thing. That and finding clever ways to stall. ;)

What a great FHE and delay tactic, too. How did you do defending the goal and listening to instruction?

My poor boy with only sisters. He's never played backyard underwear soccer.
Your Aiden is smart in more ways than one: vocabulary and manipulation.

Pants optional sporting events. Sounds like fun!

Hmm, we have never played this, believe it or not. :)

We probably could have pulled it off in our last (very private) backyard were we the nudey suit types, but it would be scandalous here!

Our next door neighbor (also in the ward) announced that now that they had neighbors next door, they would stop swimming naked in their pool. We had just met them when he said that. I thought his wife was going to die of embarrassment.

I love their faces! It just amazes me over and over again how smart kids are...stalling..their vocabulary...

Your future naked cowboys sure are cute! And smart! I often feel the same way and feel like shouting, "Don't tell me things. I just want to play!" but I don't think that would go over so well in Relief Society.

I really think that next time it should be pants-optional for you and Jim as well.

"don't tell me things, I just want to play"...I can see that in my child's face a lot, but she has never expressed herself!

Your grass looks beautiful!! I am loving the water barrels as the goals and your boys are too cute!! A

Amy I am the biggest brain farter in the world. I really do want to hang out on Weds I just seriously don't remember what day it is since we have nothing going on. Abby starts preschool next week so I will finally have to remember the days. So don't hate me. Let's really play and what if we did it when the older ones were home too so they could play as well? Yes or no?

Oh ho! Kids are brilliant strategists! Love that he said "instruction".

Hey, I used to play like that when I was their age. That's what I get for having four older bros who didn't teach me any better.

Are those rain collection barrels? If so, I'm super impressed and excited, let's talk more!

    love you,
