ouch

I woke up this morning with a mile long to-do list. The world had to be in order by tonight because tomorrow morning I'll be on a 9:04 flight to Des Moines. Well, at 9:04 this morning Davyn nose-dived out of my vehicle and face-planted into the asphalt.
His cry told me it was serious.
But when I got past the blood and managed to make sense of his mouth, I was a bit horrified. His front tooth was pushed up almost completely into his gums. My heart was wrenched and well-laid plans were scrapped. Jim & I both accompanied him to the dentist (a new & fabulous dentist, you'll be happy to hear).
The poor boy has been in pain most of the day, but he still managed this smile when I pulled out the camera.
I will miss my 3 boys over the next week...my heart is so tied up in theirs. But the sad truth is that they'll likely do just fine without me. Is it bragging to confess that Jim is -hands down- the best dad ever? They'll miss me as the dishes stack up, I'm sure...but I have no doubt that fun will be had in my absence.
I have not seen Megan & her boys since last summer....so I can't wait to snuggle my newborn nephew...hoping to return to a newborn niece (Mandi!).

Enjoy your auntie time!
Poor boy. :( For some reason about 5 of my nephews/neices seem to have done this too.
Have a great trip!
Have a wonderful trip! I hope you get lots of baby snuggling in, and that they're doing well.
I hope you have a happy trip! I will miss you at book club.
Have a great time on your trip. I just love newborns.
D looks miserable, but what a little trooper. I hope he is feeling better.
I took Ry outside today and let her run around to her heart's content. She was nuts and wiped out on our driveway. When I got there her mouth was bleeding and all I could see was bloody teeth. I tried to see where it was coming from and kept picturing Davyn's little face. Thankfully she just bumped her lip, though. I would have freaked out for sure.
(Looked like a fun Easter. Too funny that hard-boiled eggs are now treats!)
