    spt: pick me up

When I need a pick-me-up (and chocolate & Jim are out of sight), this is what I reach for:

A phone call with one of my sisters always helps me sort.  We mainly laugh.  Sometimes the laugh is at my own expense, mind you...but when life seems low it is indeed nice to have someone who can *lightly* put your own silliness into perspective.

And our free long distance is a definite "pick me up" for Jim...considering how often I need a lift myself.

I call for pick me ups too, and over the past few months that has definitely been a lot of phone calls! Laughing about your problems usually is the best medicine.

I agree..this is a great way to let off steam, and gain a perspective at anytime of the day!

This was my SPT as well. Unlimited long distance is essential!

First let me say...I think you have the most adorable banner EVER on your blog! Secondly, I'm totally on the same page with calling the sisters. That was my SPT too. There's something really refreshing about being able to talk to another grown-up during the day.

Good for you! Sisters just know you--it is a blessing to have sisters.

This reminds me of that quote from Sister Hinckley about laughing or crying and "crying always gives me a headache." Happily, sisters are willing to let you do both. Love your pick me up.

A 'pick up the phone' pick up. Aren't you glad that long distance isn't the expense it used to be?

What a great outlet. I am always on the phone to my mom--for a laugh, for sympathy, to vent, everything. I am very thankful that my cell phone does not accrue long distance charges!
