happy halloweening

from us.

Tonight we'll spend another 30 minutes wrapping this guy up so that he can be completely worn out to the borderline of tears by the time we're ready to hit the big party.

And then I'll spend two minutes make-uping this guy so that he can embrace the vampire persona and drive me batty by insisting to speak through oversized fangs all night. The boy may as well be speaking Transylvanian.

Oh the joy of candy and costumes and hyped little humans.  Are you feeling the sarcasm?  I don't think I'd feel this way if Halloween hadn't somehow recently become a week-(or month?!)-long holiday...what's up with that?!

But I did get a welcome bonus this year.  Of the cake kind.  Melissa is letting me bake for her party.  She is my good friend and my Nie Nie cake auction winner.  So my kitchen is some kind of spooky mess right about now. And I'm liking it.

I'll post pictures when I finish.

Can't wait to see them!

Could that mummy costume be any cuter? I'm thinking the tea dye really made it . . . I'd have never guessed mummies weren't white, but he's right...after sitting in the tombs they'd be dusty and fly-specked.

Have fun at the party....barring you get there that is :)

I'm so glad you got your wish to have spooky costumes. I remember you lamenting your Justice Squad last year. That mummy is perfect. Beyond perfect. Was it just torn strips of cloth and then you went to town with safety pins? I can promise you in some future year a child in this home will be a mummy. PERFECT.

After I read Dracula last month, I am officially terrified of vampires. So if I ooh and ahh less over that ensamble, it has nothing to do with your costuming skills, but rather me hiding under my computer desk.

Happy Halloween!

So sad that the reality of becoming a costumed mummy isn't all that exciting... Good luck with the big day. I'm loving your scary kids.

I can't wait to see your cake creation!

Good luck with Halloween. Nathan is getting sick and I'm hoping he makes it through the day..poor kid! He is Mad Eye Moody and Marshall is Batman. Hopefully I will remember to take pictures of Nathan today. He looks great. Your kiddos look so cute. I can't wait to see your cake. Too bad you don't live near me. I'd let you make me a cake any day!

They both look fantastic! That may be the best looking mummy I've ever seen. I think the tea bath was a roaring success.

The boys look great in their costumes! Landon was a mummy a couple years ago and I was almost undone by the amount of wrapping and rewrapping we had to do with his costume.

Davyn's picture is priceless. And the mummy costume you created is amazing. I love how it turned out. You have such a patient little guy to not totally melt down during all the wrapping! Lots of work!
