fall break: day four

today's destination:  Schnepf Farms

where there were enough pumpkins to make it look like October, but too much heat to feel like Fall.  I'm not blaming the destination..just the fickle weather.  Because we have had some enviable weather of late.  But not today.  Luckily, the day's company more than made up for the uncomfortable heat.

I can hardly believe I haven't dedicated a post to the subject yet, but I LOVE having Kelly live here.  Times have definitely changed since our inseparable college days.  The days of ditching classes were far easier than the possibility of ditching children so our excursions are always cut short by school pick up times.  Even so, just being able to casually get together is a treat.  And I've wanted these littles to become friends ever since...well, forever really.

A few pictures from the day:

Looks like a fun time, even with the heat. Meeting Kelly some day is on my bucket list. And D is an awfully cute cowboy, even on a carousel horse.

How fun! I love pumpkins and going to a pumpkin festival is a perfect way to spend an autumn afternoon. Doesn't just seeing a pumpkin make you smile? It does for me!

Oh, and my best friend from high school has her kids the same ages as mine an now our children are best friends, and it is completey wonderful. I totally know what you meant about wanting your littles to be friends together since forever. So great it is happening.

I can only wonder why I wasn't invited. (I'm kidding, of course.)

Yes, what wouldn't you give for a crisp pumpkin patch excursion?

And I just need to say, that you certainly made the most of your fall break. Those are some very lucky kids.

I love the photos and the kids! It does look like a very Arizona trip to a pumpkin patch--love the colors. I have got to meet all of the kids some day! :)

Your fine pictures are worth the slow upload. Seriously. Beautiful. I'm enjoying your fall break!

Oh dear, now I'm afraid Kay is going to be really disappointed when we do meet. I don't think it's a bucket list worthy event. That said, I'm flattered that she said that. We just live down the road from each other, so we should really meet sometime!

We had such a fun time at the patch with you -- heat and all! It's a lovely thing to be part of each other's real lives again on a regular basis. I'm wondering why Dana and Lacey didn't make the cut -- or are they a separate entry on their own?? :)
