a proud mom moment

Yesterday the boys were washing off all the upstairs doors.  As they finished, Davyn handed me his washcloth and said, "I clean well, Mom."

How many 2-year-olds know how to use an adverb?!
Then again, how many moms would get crazy excited over this?!

I love this post. I know exactly how you feel. I have said those exact same words myself. I love it when Alexis says well or may I or uses the subjunctive correctly. Oh us English geeks.

I agree with this last comment of yours. I don't think I would have noticed to have gotten so excited. You crack me up.

And that's why you were meant to be his mother! He uses adverbs well, and you take note of it.

that's impressive. I second Kelly's comment.

Did anyone else have to look up what an adverb was?

That is sweet. I love when my kids do things that I am good at. Very satisfying.

That is cute Amy. Every once in a while Bethany has moments where I think, you should say that, you are only 4 (in a good way).

I'd be excited about that too! I'm thrilled whenever the kids ask me nicely for something (i.e., Whitney coming to me this morning and saying "Mom, could you come help me pick out something to wear please?"). Plus, your guy is little!

Or how many moms would notice/know that he was using correct English! =)

Oh Amy! I would be beaming. Who cares about reaching "potty-trained" status or those "first steps" when your child can correctly use the adverbial form of the adjective "good". A proud mama made indeed!

How fun to be a language loving mom! I would be excited about the clean doors! Way to go, Amy!

Amy you are a wonderful Mother. I keep thinking I need to throw Damian in the pot because you have so much fun. I'm sure he thinks our lives are boring. I am really impressed with all you accompolish with your cooking, your children and sisters children, going and doing the things you accomplish besides all the normal things you have to accomplish everyday because you are the mother and that is what we do. Thanks for sharing. This will be a wonderful journal for you someday. Or do you write one besides. Thanks for sharing your world. Aunt Eloise

I'm so glad you commented Eloise! Even if your comment embarrasses me because it definitely glosses over the truth that the *fun* things are what I too often focus on to avoid the *everyday* things of motherhood. Aidy LOVES Damian...we'll throw him in our pot anytime!
