    sisters

Oh my.  Sister time was definitely had on this trip.  And that's rather a first.  We always try to fit it in, but with so many dang kids all so dang young, our gatherings are far more often spent chasing, reprimanding, watching over.  But, the littles are becoming bigs.  And the problems were fewer.  And we ran them ragged in the daytime so we could relish our night times.  And the dads were there to help.  So...there were nights of wild card games (and a horrible Monopoly game), and just a whole lot of general laughing.

Gina had us in her torture chamber with a two hour beauty regiment and strawberry daiquiris one night.  This was the first of two masks.  Megan's zombie look cracks me up in this picture.  The second mask was a clear face lift mask.  After one minute on, it turns to concrete...or at least that's how it feels.  You can't smile or laugh or talk for a full half hour.  Try that with five people who always make you smile, laugh and talk.  And by the end of that 30 minutes, your face looks wrinkled beyond recognition.  But when it was all washed away, it felt so entirely refreshing.  Thank you, Gina!  I want a list of all your products because your skin is beautiful!

The girls also got out alone on Megan's birthday to do a little shopping and to lunch without eating at a horrible Chinese restaurant (the birthday girl's Chinese food wishes really should have been saved for a place other than Cedar City).  This is my favorite Megan picture from her birthday.  She and her Tom are gushily sweet to each other.  Well, mostly from his end, but - though she's not a gusher herself - I do love seeing her so entirely happy with her husband.

We decided we definitely want to have a full-on sisters weekend retreat sometime.  The requirements for the spot are good food, good spa, good shopping.  But, the company, of course, will be the Best.

That sounds completely wonderful! I only have one sister, but I have three great sister-in-laws, I would love to have a get together sans kids with them the way you did. Great that you got to do this!

I loved the zombie sister too!

Oh my goodness. This pic of Tom and Meg really looks like my dad and Megan. It kindof freaked me out at first. I'm glad you guys had a great time.

I'm dying of laughter, Susan! The thought of your dad nibbling on Megs' ear. Oh so funny!

It has taken me a very long time to get into the spa girly thing but I'm totally with it now. Have I mentioned that I have family in Cedar City?

I read all these posts last week and didn't comment, but left the page open and never came back to my computer. Alas. What a fun vacation. The 4th with all the cousins is just what childhood is made of and the sister's retreat: I love the masks and the time together. My sisters always talk about doing a sister retreat but it's never materialized.
