sisters
Oh my. Sister time was definitely had on this trip. And that's rather a first. We always try to fit it in, but with so many dang kids all so dang young, our gatherings are far more often spent chasing, reprimanding, watching over. But, the littles are becoming bigs. And the problems were fewer. And we ran them ragged in the daytime so we could relish our night times. And the dads were there to help. So...there were nights of wild card games (and a horrible Monopoly game), and just a whole lot of general laughing.
Gina, Amy, Mandi, Megan, Cyndee, JoDee
Gina had us in her torture chamber with a two hour beauty regiment and strawberry daiquiris one night. This was the first of two masks. Megan's zombie look cracks me up in this picture. The second mask was a clear face lift mask. After one minute on, it turns to concrete...or at least that's how it feels. You can't smile or laugh or talk for a full half hour. Try that with five people who always make you smile, laugh and talk. And by the end of that 30 minutes, your face looks wrinkled beyond recognition. But when it was all washed away, it felt so entirely refreshing. Thank you, Gina! I want a list of all your products because your skin is beautiful!
The girls also got out alone on Megan's birthday to do a little shopping and to lunch without eating at a horrible Chinese restaurant (the birthday girl's Chinese food wishes really should have been saved for a place other than Cedar City). This is my favorite Megan picture from her birthday. She and her Tom are gushily sweet to each other. Well, mostly from his end, but - though she's not a gusher herself - I do love seeing her so entirely happy with her husband.
We decided we definitely want to have a full-on sisters weekend retreat sometime. The requirements for the spot are good food, good spa, good shopping. But, the company, of course, will be the Best.
