more Christmas treats

ho%20ho%20ho%20donuts.jpgI made donuts to give to some neighbors & friends for FHE tonight and thought it would be cute to add an "H" to the donut "0"'s for a Christmas Ho! Ho! Ho!

Megan called in the midst of the kneading part of the process and asked what I was doing.  She laughed and told me that there has been some kind of uproar in Australia over santas saying "ho, ho, ho".  Apparently it's offensive to women and can potentially frighten children.   Who knew.

So the santas have been advised to steer clear of that suspect phrase.  Political correctness gone mad, I say.

Do you think my neighbors will be offended by my Ho's?!

Very cute idea! You should sell them.

Ho Ho Ho, offensive? Hmm. Maybe if you already have a complex about something. How is it scary, though? It means presents!!

I think last time I made donuts Brynlee was 2. It's been a while! Your Ho donuts are so cute! I still don't know what I'm doing for friend/neighbor gifts, but we're so germy right now I don't think anyone would want something coming from our house.

Amy,

They look great! I am so impressed by all of your holiday projects... as for me, mine are all half done laying through out the house in disarray!

They were tasty and I think I would dip one and then eat one, so I'm sure my thighs will show those donuts for a while!

What a wonderful idea! You are one clever lady! It makes me smile to see those little cute ho, ho, ho donuts--and I'm sure everyone who got one did as well.

Thanks for the recipe!

You clever girl...so cute and festive. Thanks for the recipe too...almost like you knew I'd ask! Maybe we'll do this for Santa's plate on Christmas eve...he must be very tired of cookies by the time he gets to our house.

I think the ho hos are funny. And I think that people who are easily offended are offensive. I say steer clear of blatant offenses and if anyone gets offended at anything well that's just their problem.
Ok I'm off my soap box now. Here's hoping you get a freak sprinkling of snow on Christmas? The good news is that children are easily distracted and forgetful (as Aidan has thus illustrated). So hopefully on Christmas cute little London won't notice. Personally I'd rather go to the beach on Christmas like we used to do when I was a girl.

I had an aunt who used to make *spud-nuts* but I have never done it, thanks for the recipe! And Ken loves to say "Ho" at Christmas time whenever he gets the chance.
