a word to the wise

NEVER do the 60 minute arms workout for P90X on the same day you tape, caulk and paint for 10 hours straight.

Just sayin'.

Oh, and if you happen to take a darling picture of Mandi champing it out with a paintbrush in one hand and 20 pound baby in the other, make sure your memory card is IN the camera first.  This is a poor substitute, but today's story must be told and seen.Every bit of paint that covered every bit of ugly, dirty wall brought me joy.

It feels clean, fresh, new.

The loft is next.  I'm thinking blue.

Then the hippo goes down for good.

I'm taking control of my life, people.  It's a good thing.

p.s. any guesses on the likelihood of me joining Mandi tomorrow at 5:30 am for 90 minutes of yoga??? Ha!

I love it, love it, love it! It looks so good and totally changes the look of the upstairs. I wish I could of been there to help . What did you decide to do with the stairs?

I'm so glad you're back to blog commenting, JoDee! I actually painted the left side wall of the stairs. We left that huge wall on the right side white. I think it was a good choice because the color looks darker upstairs than downstairs. I wish you had been here, too!

Whew, you're brave to do P90 ANYTHING, let alone P90 AND painting all in one day. That DVD set makes me cry like a little baby.

Love the color. Looks just like my living room...it's a really cozy color.

It looks really good. Your crazy video sounds scary. I'm worried you're going to make me do it when I come in May. And why is JoDee only commenting on your blog? Are you guys best "girlfriends" now? Whatever!

I think it looks lovely...how ambitious you are! Makes me want to light a fire under myself.

WOW! Am I so behind on reading!!! I am loving your new paint! Yahoo for you in doing two such physical things in one day! I think I would be on the floor!
Can't wait to see your new BLUE over the hippo - as darling as that it ! ha!!
Fun that you were able to brave the drive to Utah and have such a great time!!

I am so proud of you for showing up for the hour and a half of Yoga this morning! And painting was fun (I love that kind of stuff). I am so excited that your upstairs is done now -- so fresh and clean and nice! It makes me giddy.

Oh, and maybe we should all be grateful that the memory card was out. . . I'm just sayin'

Wonderful job--looks great! It is so exciting to get done with a big paint job like that!

I don't even know what that arm workout is--but it doesn't sound like much fun! But I'm sure after that day-long arm workout you are doing fabulously in the arm department.

It looks marvelous! New paint is a wonder -- it takes me by surprise every time how much of a difference it can make. I'm sure it will be a great day when the hippo goes down...

Amy, It looks great! Way to go! So when are you going to share you secret on how to be in control of one's life?

YEA!! I an itching to paint my hall way too, and then redo my downstairs. This inspires me and I think I'll miss the hippo. :)

60 minute arms doesn't actually mean a 60 minute workout does it? Because that seems far too long to be focusing on arms. You must have been dying as you painted after that, but the excitement of the change must have been like a shot of adrenaline eh? It looks good.

i am teetering on the edge of "just do it" regarding the badly needed paint job in my family room (our most lived in/loved) room

you are an inspiration!!

forgot to say it looks GREAT!

and sorry hippo, but i think blue would look grand in your play area

Great color! 10 hours of wall-work? Wow. It's hard to stop once you get started, I find. "Just a little bit more," then, "Well, now I'm almost done...so just a little bit more."

My camera comes up with a nasty message about "No Memory Card" if I try to take picutes without one.

Good job on the hard work!
