to-do

Blog.

It has been on my list every day this week, but obviously the to-do's aren't getting done.  I was talking to Mandi on the phone today, and she asked why I hadn't posted pictures of my Utah trip yet.

A rather sheepish "because I didn't take any" followed.

And some sadness.  Because I don't get to see my Utah family often.  Because I like pictures.  Because the boys and I had a fantastic week there.  Because I missed the opportunity to document it all.  Because I tend to Remember what I take time to document.

So tomorrow morning I'm making an exception by tagging a "to-do" list onto my next vacation (we're headed to Luna!).  With one item:  take pictures.  I'm not promising they'll make it onto this neglected blog quickly, but there will be pictures aplenty.  So stay tuned for my little cowboys because it's rodeo time!

I frequently feel disappointed with myself because I didn't take a picture and thank goodness for blogging because I am much better with documenting our life. I look back at pictures before we had Carly and they are a sad excuse for documentation? I keep telling Carly she will be thankful that I take so many, but she has a hard time seeing that far in the future :)

When Mike and I went to Lake Tahoe in Nevada a couple years ago, I didn't bring my camera. I still feel sad about that.

Have a fun trip...I love looking at people's vacation pictures...living vicariously, you know!

We took the kids to an Air Show yesterday. I brought the camera, but the battery died after two photos. Try as I might to squeeze any droplets of life out, the camera would have none of it. It is disappointing. We had such a great day, and I want to have something to look at and remember. BUT not taking pictures also let me just be present the whole time, and that is good too. I don't want my kids to think that the pictures are more important to me than the experience. Sometimes I leave the camera home on purpose just so I won't be distracted by it.

My trip to South Africa and Hawaii ended in ME using a disposable camera!! Can you imagine. That should be against the law.haha
I didn't bring my charger-my camera has a funky battery. Same happened in Utah this month! I located a charger for sale, but ended up using my mom's camera. I know the feeling -I hate that ;)

I am seriously dissapointed that you did not picture document your Utah trip. What? Why?
Anyway, I miss you, feel like we haven't talked in FOREVER.

I am always sad when I don't take photos. I remember what I document as well. Dang faulty memory. I'm glad you took photos in Luna!
