SPT: stolen moments
Once upon a time, I married a boy who already owned a house and shared it with two roommates. We kept his brother, kicked out the other & settled down happily in our 1000 square foot master bedroom. Such a spacey bedroom sounds nice in theory, but this one was fully bachelor equipped with couch, two recliners, big screen t.v., desk, computer, king size bed. Hardly the romantic newlywed haven. When visitors came, we watched movies in the bedroom. Now, this faintly disturbed me at first...and "faintly disturbed" nested and grew until [after about a year!] I mustered the courage to claim bachelor days over. I wanted no big screen or recliners in my bedroom retreat. The suggestion did not go over well. So we fought. And - eventually - he caved. The television and giant chairs made their way to the front room. But the computer and huge desk stayed because, well, there was so much dang space. So much for feng shui.
Two years later we moved to this house. And a nice, normal-sized master bedroom. We bought the bed of my dreams, discovered perfect mattress nirvana, and I've reveled in the lack of space for extras. Instead, there's space for our solitude. I now love my bedroom. And my stolen moments are spent there thus:

i know what you mean about the feng shui... when taylor moved in, we took the computer out of "her" room and the only other place to put it was our master. heck, i don't even turn it on (i do all my internet at work), and i can still feel the subtle jab in my chi!!
Very cute picture of you. I love your headboard. Where do you get that? Whenever we do get a king-size bed so I can like my husband at night again I'm going to need all new furniture in my bedroom. At least it's not 1000 sq feet.
