word of the week:  liberally

I’m a big fan of April’s word of the week idea. So this is me playing catch-up on last week’s word.

LIBERALLY/adv./ 1.  My mother infused me with a liberal amount of early Christmas spirit on Saturday when I helped her get her decorations out & up.  I'm typically the girl who finally puts up her tree two weeks into December.  Well, not this year.  FHE tonight..the deed was done.  And I liberally indulged (yes, already!) in my favorite December scene - lights out, blankets on, tree aglow, cuddling, kissing & storying with my three.   It will most definitely be a lovely holiday season.

LIBERALLY/adv./2.  The boys liberally decorated one branch of the Christmas tree tonight…seeming to believe that the ornaments need friends nearby.  I, for once, generously allowed their assistance in the tree adorning…and hope – of course – that they’ll liberally forgive the re-adorning I plan to do in the morning.

your tree is beautiful! Ryley is really getting into the whole tree thing this year. She has been kind enough to strategically remove a lot of the ornaments on the bottom branches and put them...where? It's so much fun to watch there excitement.

Oh, the scene makes me tear up. Almost makes me want to break out the boxes. Your ornaments are absolutely gorgeous!

Way to go! I have put everything but the tree up. I am dreading it because I know Jake won't leave it alone and I wonder how many times it will fall on him.

Very nicely decorated by your helpers. I need to get going on decorations, but can't quite remember where our Christmas stuff is, or what box it might be housed in...hmmm.

I think you need to decorate early in Arizona because the weather doesn't generally cooperate in giving you a holly jolly feeling. It looks lovely! I love that your boys felt the ornaments needed friends. Very cute! And I'm glad you jumped on board with word of the week, too.

Looks like mom's tree looked on Saturday! Our girls loved putting the tree up last night too. Very festive. I'm planning a little re-decorating myself when they're not looking.

It all looks so festive! I think we'll be pulling our decorations out this week. We usually do the ornaments during a family night--we'll see if we wait that long.

It seemed like a big job to set things up--but not the last few years! I take full advantage of all my little helpers. It is so fun to see how they liberally share their excitement with others!

I found your website through someone else and I don't even remember who but I'm glad I found it. Your kids are cute. I'm glad you got to decorate your tree. We had a mega dose of FHE driving home from Prescott, Az to Utah yesterday. I looked at your kids pics...they are darling! I love the one of your son in his Sunday Best. I think little boys look so great all dressed up. :)

Lovely to catch up on your holiday and family fun! Such a nice thought-- cuddling by the tree.

Love the tree. Just beautiful.

We have our family room tree (mostly) up but that is it. Our real tree comes in mid-December
other decor will follow this week

You have beautiful Christmas decorations. How is it that everyone is putting up trees already? Won't they be dead by the big day?

Okay, I get it. You have an artificial tree. I am such an idiot. Sorry!

We too allowed our littles to decorate in their own ways. They didn't seem to notice the "fixes" the next day. It was all good. Your tree looks great!

Amy, OF COURSE I remember you. How could I forget Ras' bestestest friend who had "arrived" with that condo you bought?! How fun to reconnect and thanks for commenting. I'll be baaaaaack. :-)

Your tree looks beautiful. It FINALLY feels cool enough to enjoy the sight of a christmas tree. I was hoping a picture would be posted with the pie you made at Thanksgiving...It sounded beautiful as well. Maybe it is just me wishing it was still Thanksgiving and we hadn't moved on to Christmas quite yet.

Your tree looks beautiful and I love the ornaments. Unfortunetly we don't get our tree for a couple weeks because of the Kersey tradition of having to go up north to cut it down. I miss having a pretty tree- those are so hard to find out in the forest!!!

Seriously 2 weeks into December? Your holiday season is going to feel substantially longer this year, what a treat. I like it to last as long as possible before January arrives so we set our stuff up last night too. I love lying on the couch under a cozy quilt looking at the tree.

I let the boys help decorate the tree this year. There are like three ornaments on one branch here and there, but I was real good at letting that go as well.
