    t.v. blues

I know that the past month has been about family & holidays.  I’ve done & enjoyed it immensely.  But…over the past few days I protest when I turn in boredom to my television.  Yes, I want to watch t.v.  But my DVR is empty.  I’ve caught up on everything & there is nothing new.

I could read.  I could write.  I could fold laundry.  But I seriously just want to know if Cristina & Burke actually stay together.  Will Izzie ever spend her millions?  Pressing questions both.  Then there’s the whole world of Heroes.  I’m completely enveloped.  How dare they create this mind-boggling plot, but leave me in limbo for weeks.  And, of course, I need to know the next Top Chef challenge.  Will the ever-annoying Marcel finally be eliminated?  I want to see him pack his knives & walk out in all his molecular gastronomical glory.  And I need a new Stargate.  I need it NOT to be the last season, but I’ll savor what I can.

But my DVR is empty.  The December dearth has left me lonely.  Why on earth do all the shows have to go on holiday at once?  They film in advance, so just one could get some prime viewage opportunities in the famine that is currently t.v. land.

Yes, there are more useful things to be done.  Yes, my desk is a mess of projects.   And, yes, I envy those who do banish t.v. in favor of more worthwhile pursuits.  But, I like & miss my t.v. time.

I also wish I was not a tv person, but I do enjoy it. I did not know you were a Grey's lover! Me, too! Someone else who has 3 words in her blogging name has a not-so-secret-anymore addiction to it, as well. I am rooting for Cristina and Burke. I love them. And I was just tonight wondering if there was a new episode anywhere on the horizon.

I haven't watched Top Chef. I taped it after the Project Runway finale (I love that - so creative.), but it somehow got deleted from the DVR and I have trouble joining in mid-season.

And you know I haven't seen Stargate. :) Some things never change.

I am excited about a new Office episode tomorrow! That show makes me happy like none other. It is the perfect silly for me.

I love Grey's, Hereos and am totally hooked too. I am longing for them to start back as well. My husband is a Stargate junky and he is overly giddy over 24 coming up on the 14th. Isn't it funny how we all long for our t.v. shows to come back? p.s. I have never seen the office, but so many people seem to love it.

January is such a tv month. Just made for cozy blankets and hot chocolate and.... vegging out. Do you like Studio 60? I haven't heard anyone mention this fabulous show. But yes, I catch Grey's sometimes, and of course I'm excited for The Office! Oh, we are all either extremely boring or completely exhausted after hours!

Kel, I'm actually not an Office viewer...my in-laws all LOVE it, and I have lots of it on DVD from them, but have never yet settled in to watch. The thought of you watching Stargate slays me. I love love it, but would never want you naysaying in the same room!

Jenny, I'm also out of the 24 loop. But my husband & I definitely qualify as Stargate junkies. Somewhat embarrassing to admit, but true. I'm a sci-fi nerd.

Rebecca, I do love Studio 60 - everything that comes out of Jordan's mouth is gold - but didn't want to tack that on because I've already admitted to plenty! Partially bored & exhausted, but mostly I just like to escape into good creativity...or so I say.

Oh, I like Studio 60, too! I've heard it hasn't done very well, and I keep worrying that they are going to take it off. Hopefully not!

I, too, am a t.v. junkie. I love Grey's, Studio 60, two and a half men, the class, how I met your mother... need I go on?

I hate to admit it but I love to watch tv. I wish I didn't - but I do. And, it puts me over the edge when I find another new show! I rarely watch anything on real time - always on my DVR. I find it so annoying that nothing new is on. I love that you love Grey's as well! Izzie's million dollar check sticking on the fridge with a magnet is going to drive me mad! At least put it in the back! Geez! Love LOST! (anyone watch that? I've watched that from the beginning...) Love The Amazing Race and I do, on occasion, like to watch Miami Ink! Yes, I know! Strange! I can thank Kelly for that! I bet you didn't know that she loves that show! Especially the episode with the grilled cheese sandwich!

I was just thinking the same thing as I just got done looking up the T.V schedule for tonight. Another lonely night without McDreamy! Guess I will have to curl up with a good book instead. I can't wait for all the new seasons to return.

Yes, I outed Price Cream, and now she can out me. Ha ha! I do adore Miami Ink. It's so out of character for me (not as out of character as Stargate would be), but I do love it. They are such artists, and they usually profile people with really touching stories. Except for the lady who got the grilled cheese tattoo -- that was just humorous.

For all you Stargate junkies, they are suppose to have a couple of more episodes come out in the Spring and then a movie in the Fall. My husband was so mad when it ended without closure and spend days trying to figure out what was going on.

I think I would like Miami Ink. I just taped a bunch of episodes of some crazy cake decorating show. The guy built a cake that looked like an engine for the Jay Leno Show. They had some fire flame out of it & everything...crazy.

And hi, Susan! I'm glad someone else loves Stargate. I will eulogize it when it ends.

Amy - there is a new show on HGTV that will come on I believe the 18th - I will check for you. It is all about amazing cakes. I thought of you!
And....I meant to say - Izzie should put the check in the BANK not the back! :-(

Somehow I missed the part about Heroes. I started watching that (believe it or not), but after the open brains I had to recuse myself. I do watch all the scenes involving Hiro though (I adore him) since Keith watches it faithfully.

I adore him, too. So Japanese.

So I'm watching Heroes. The moment has come: Save the Cheerleader. Save the World. Sylar is at the school. He's killed the fake and he's after the cheerleader. My phone rings. Are you kidding me?!?! It's my neighbor and she wants to talk for the next 20 minutes. I don't have DVR. I never finished the show!! I know I shouldn't have answered it, but she can see that I'm home. Sigh.

You're a good friend, Annalisa. I don't answer my phone during scenes like that...even with DVR. If you need an update, let me know.
