    cuddling A

Aidan is sick and the day was full of the rare brand of Aidan demands I love.  “Will you rub my back?”  “I really need someone to hold me. And I need popcorn.”  “Will you cuddle me?”  "Can you rub my head?"  Hardly permitted to baby this boy anymore, I heartily agreed to each request.

    Other conversation highlights:

Me: “You have a fever again.”

    A: “Oh tartar sauce.”

    LATER:

    Me: “Davyn woke up.”

A: “Damn,” head hides under sheets, then eyes peak out, “is that what people say?”

Me: “Uh…no.” (Never heard that from me, I’m certain)

    LATER:

We cuddled on my bed, and he found it all-too-convenient to get up for bathroom breaks.   “Mom I really need a toilet in my room. Why do you get one in yours?”

    AND LATER:

Me: “Should we get a spiderman poster to go on D’s side of the room?”

A: Pause for thought, then, “No, we need a shower in here instead.”

The body is slow, but the mind ever-sharp in this tiny human today.  I’m swimming in the Calm, bracing for the familiar full body Energy of tomorrow.

How cute. It always feels nice to be needed. Ryley isn't a very cuddly baby. The only time we cuddle is when she is very sleepy. She gives hugs, but then she's off and running. She doesn't like being held back.

Hopefully Aidan feels better soon. I'm glad you were able to have some snuzzle time with him.

You've got to take advantage of the cuddling when you can take it. Very funny, especially the bathroom in your room. Love the damn. I hope you held a straight face through that.

He is hilarious, even sick! I have to take advantage of sick cuddly days with Brynlee and PQ, too. "Tartar sauce!" Where did he get that? (I know where he got the damn.) :)

You will love having these little tidbits written down to always remember!

I love the damn comment. It sounds like you handled it perfectly. I accidentally taught my neice (Annalisa's daughter) a bad word when she was 2. She told her mom not touch her a__. Annalisa asked her where she learned that and she told her from me. OOPS! Amy, I promise I didn't teach your son anything! :)

"Oh tartar sauce" comes from the corruption that is Sponge Bob. My boys love it & I've loved it, but as they get older I've started to cringe at the name calling - "stupid" "idiot" "hate" are pretty commonly said. I need to become a better "censoring" mama. Damn.

Oh, "damn" will always be Amy's word -- I'll know where to come when Savy or London start saying it. They already ask all the time if they can say darn it - then when I say sure, they say it a million times as if they're doing something bad, it's funny. Then the other day, London asked if she could hit her forehead with her palm (like people do when they've made a mistake or forgotten something) so now she's always saying darn it and hitting her forehead.

The funniest things come out of that A boy's mouth! He's a quick one.
